Sunoco 260 GTX™ is a high-quality ethanol-free unleaded racing fuel that contains no oxygenates and no metallic additives. 260 GTX is an excellent fuel for many applications that need more detonation protection than typical unleaded fuel provides. 260 GTX has been shown to produce repeatable power levels in small block V8 engines with up to 12:1 compression ratios. For engines with smaller or more efficient combustion chambers, or engines with aluminium heads the compression ratio can be further increased.
260 GTX is not a street legal fuel and is for off-road and racing use only. However, it will not harm sensors such as oxygen sensors used in fuel injection systems. Sunoco 260 GTX contains additives to enhance shelf life and engine cleanliness. However, as with any petrol, it should be stored in opaque and tightly sealed containers where the temperature is stable. Handled under such conditions, the shelf life of 260 GTX is in excess of 2 years. As 260 GTX does not contain any oxygenates it is less hygroscopic than unleaded fuels and is therefore an excellent fuel for jet skis and motorboats.
