The new Stilo ST5 is the latest generation of helmets from this motorsport dedicated company and is the lightest FIA 8860 model helmet in the world.
While the look is unmistakenly a Stilo, the ST5 FN is now the narrowest and smallest shell in its class, and in recent F1 tests is aerodynamically superb. A first for Stilo is that the ST5 small shell now fits a person with Large size head, something that all manufacturers in the past have been unable to do and has had to produce a larger shell. The benefits for these drivers is much lighter weight and of course better aerodynamics from the much smaller shell.
The Zero model of the ST5F N is the lightest on the market, which at 1.2kg has passed the tough FIA 8860-2018 standard, not just passed but well within the required tolerances. The weight advantages of the Zero is dramatic over the competition, with the nearest rival in its class some 356 grammes heavier, and remarkably the most popular model on the market is a massive 500 grammes heavier! If you are serious about your driving, you need to get serious about your equipment, and at least try on an ST5 helmet for yourself.
The new visor is totally new and benefitting drivers in formula cars. With only one pivot point it is much simplified in its operation, and the central locking system offers a full proof system that can be operated with one hand and is totally symmetrical. The opening of the helmet is now 5mm deeper which offers a 6cm lower vision than in the previous model. In addition, there is a new driver ventilation system which offers adjustable airflow, similar to open face helmets, but benefiting drivers in open-top formula cars, this will dramatically improve driver ability with more fresh air to breath.
Another major change is the interior. Our new double density liner offers an improved fit to give the user comfort levels never previously achieved. The super-soft liner next the skull fits snuggly around the head giving a positive snug fit of unparalleled comfort. In addition, space has been made for a frontal drinking system through the lower front vents, this now allows the helmets to offer this system without the need for major modification and scrutineer issues.
