As our exceptional ex-BTCC Honda Integra DC5 has now been sold, it represented an opportunity to acquire a hugely significant piece of modern British Touring Car Championship history. As the sole remaining UK example of the DC5s campaigned by Team Dynamics Motorsport in their record-breaking 2005 season, it would have made a superb entry for the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup or Super Touring Car Register series.

History

  • Team Dynamics exploited a loophole by importing the DC5 from Japan
  • Missed most of pre-season testing because they were developing it from a road car
  • Chassis 2 of 4 developed by Team Dynamics Motorsport
  • Matt Neal, Dan Eaves & Gareth Howell
  • One of the most successful seasons of any team in modern BTCC history ◦ Drivers, team, independent, independent drivers championship ▪ Didn't win manufacturers championship as it wasn't eligible as a privateer
  • This is the only remaining car in the UK
  • Dan Eaves won all three races at Thruxton, the final race was a reverse grid, so he started at the back of the pack, the first BTCC driver to do so
  • Won 5 races that season, set 5 fastest laps and finished third in the championship behind Matt Neal and Yvan Muller
  • From 06-07 the car was in a black and pink livery with Motorbase Performance
  • The DC5 competed until 2011 when the new generation of touring cars were bought in

Car Spec

  • BTC spec car, the first generation after the super touring era
  • 6-speed sequential Xtrac gearbox
  • Full refurb, including engine and gearbox rebuild, along with new fuel system, hubs, struts, brakes and suspension
  • It requires a team to prepare and start the car
  • Pre-heat the engine to get the car warm due to the tolerances being so tight
  • Dry sump engine and uses just 1.5 litres of oil
  • Produces around 275bhp
  • £29,000 for the engine rebuild and £10,000 for the Xtrac gearbox rebuild
  • Eligible to compete in Dunlop Saloon Car Cup Series and the Super Touring Car Register Series
  • Spares include 2 front wings, two sets of wheels including slick and wet tyres
  • Essential other parts included are a pre-water heater, air jacks and a massive wheel wrench
  • Comes with FIA/HSCC identity form/passport and a BTCC technical log book
